Tighter airport security measures and the threat of improved bombs: What you need to know
Politics
Written by Aldine      July 05, 2014
I am used to the fact that when travelling on an airline we all need to pretend that our IQ's have temporarily plummeted by 30-40 IQ points for the couple of hours it takes us to pass through the airport.

What is rather sad, however, it to find that journalists seem capable of extending to cover their working hours, this feigned credulity in the face of the most absurdly illogical arguments postulated by airport 'security' personnel.

The only way to have effective security heuristics at airports would be to randomise searches. Telling everyone that they can only have 100ml of explosive material in each little bottle that they put into their magic little sandwich bag, only means that whoever's running the supposed terrorist cell that's tasked with blowing up the plane, has to calculate that if he needs a kilo of explosive and can only fit 5 little 100ml bottles into each sandwich bag, that he needs to send two operatives on the plane.

Airport security is simply opportunism that capitalises on this being the only place where megalomaniac control freak politicians and corporation owners can get away with treating everyone like idiots.

It reminds me of the Dark Ages. The Archbishop of Canterbury pointed out that if the Papists could convince the people that when the priest genuflected and said some words, the simple elements of bread and wine physically transubstantiated themselves in Christ's actual flesh and blood, there would be absolutely no limit with respect to what the Papist church could induce its adherents to believe and therefore do; including convincing wealthy kings and princes to pay the church for their mediation services to reduce the time spent in purgatory of all their suffering ancestors.

Similarly, if we can be convinced by the absurd, inconsistent and illogical premises of airport security to believe all the ridiculous nonsense they assert, and as a consequence of this are willing to allow our wives to be visually raped by the perverts operating naked body scanners; to have the initial focus-beam of concentrated cell-damaging radiation pumped through our children's genitals, and to have our wives groped, what will we not accept when the government is ready to implement their next phase of abuses within our borders?

Airline security has nothing to do with security
