A ROMANTIC Ammanford man proposed to his girlfriend just a few minutes before midnight on Valentine’s night.
Sam Phillips decided he could not miss the opportunity to propose to his girlfriend, Aimee Turke-Evans from Llanelli, at a ball they attended on Saturday.
The 20-year-old quantity surveying student at Swansea Metropolitan University had planned on proposing to her next month, but changed his mind when the perfect opportunity arose.
Valentine's Night Proposal
He jumped up on stage at the Stradey Park Hotel in Llanelli where they were attending a charity Valentine’s Day ball and proposed to Aimee in front of family and friends.
She then burst into tears before accepting his proposal.
He said: “I bought the ring a month before and I was planning on proposing at a spa day I had planned for next month, but I just could not wait.
“We’ve been together for about two years and luckily just before midnight she said yes.”
The ‘Love Your Heart Valentine’s Day Ball’ was organised by local charity Calon Dda and was helping to raise funds for the cardiology units in Prince Philip and Morriston Hospital.
The charity’s fifth annual ball included a three-course dinner, a raffle, and auction and entertainment from musical group, The Arrhythmics, led by Phil Avery, a cardiac doctor at Prince Philip Hospital.
