As part of a national trend, Houston fast food workers have staged protests twice in the past four months, demanding the federal minimum wage to be more than doubled from $7.25 per hour to $15 per hour.

If those fast food workers got their way, their victory would extend to Houston workers whose current hourly salary is above the current federal minimum, but below the proposed new $15 minimum.
